Original Field of Childhood Sociology: Qualitative Research With Children

Abstract

This study inquiries the possibility of qualitative research with children via examining different child perspectives in the field of sociology of children, and takes qualitative research with children as one of the most important means of constructing the field of sociology of children/childhood. In this sense, the study first examines different child perspectives within the sociology of childhood, then discusses the possibility of qualitative research with children which represents the alternative to the mainstream attitudes and methodological preferences in the field of research with children, and finally puts forth some of the techniques used in qualitative research with children.
