Abstract

In this study argumentation-based STEAM activities that enable gifted students to confront with new topics different from their normal schools were suggested for the enrichment of gifted education. The topics of the activities were biomimicry, the art of thought experiments, nominal science, construction of a Rube Goldberg machine, forensic serology. Cunningham model was used for constructing the activities. The activities sections were argumentations and argument construction processes for gifted students to find a solution for the determined problem, to construct an art prototype, and to test its doings, and then to do studies for improving it. The descriptions were utilized for the activities. These activities were supposed to make gifted students not only construct creative prototypes for producing solutions to problems; but also criticize their own and others’ thinking strategies so to improve their critical thinking.
