The Responsibilities of Gifted Children Family's In Coping With Challenges Of Giftedness

Abstract

This study is conducted to develop a perspective by examining the studies that address the challenges that parents of gifted children face to face and to include the responsibilities of the family and solution suggestions that will help the family in dealing with these challenges. Families who face to face different challenges due to the gifted abilities of their children undertake important duties and responsibilities in their children’s development and education processes. In this review study, studies have been searched in line with the problem of “What are the responsibilities of gifted children parents’ in coping with the challenges of giftedness?” Within the scope of the study, literature is reviewed in a systematic way in order to determine the responsibilities of the family in dealing with the challenges of giftedness. The information obtained from the accessible resources was summarized under headings and presented by taking into account the results of the relevant researches. As a result of literature review which is made and accessible on the topic, the responsibilities in dealing with the challenges of giftedness are generally categorized under nine main headings. Later on, solution suggestions that will be able to guide to the families are included.
