Abstract

  Child is the continuation product and most important link of human society.Every individual who has not reached the age of 18 is accepted as a child.Although it has a place for itself in all periods of history and in every culture aroundthe world, the status of the child in social terms varies from society to society.While childhood includes a biological,socio-cultural period that has not yet reached adulthood and cannot decide on its own, this concept has succeeded in creating a new field in sociology after the middle of the 20th century.With this new field that emerged in the modern era,it is aimed thar the child should be considered as an individual in the middle of the social and cultural world and be in a separateposition from the adults.With is study, it is aimed that each society has a unique culture, as well as its perspective on childhood, that the factors that determine childhood are not limited by age or growth and that these should be evaluted in a more social, cultural and historical dimension.
