Problem Based Children’s Turkish Literature

Abstract

The history of problem based children’s literature in Turkey is very recent, which can be defined as the fact that child reader confronts problems and gains the ability to cope with them by means of reading books. In the present study, we aim to explain the concept problem based children’s literature, its features and determine the academic studies on this concept and the reflections of this approach on Turkish children’s literature. The results of the study suggest that some discussions specifically concerning the nomination of the concept have emerged and the research on this approach is very limited in Turkey and this approach would serve as bibliotherapy.
