In this study, by addressing the unique aspects of the field of special education, the difficulties that special education teachers may encounter as professionals working in the field and the suggestions put forward for their solution will be discussed. Considering the severity of the working conditions in the field of special education, the difficulty of working with individuals with special needs, the responsibility of teachers and the need for support in the process, it is thought that revealing the difficulties experienced by professionals working in the field is important in terms of supporting the professional performance of special education teachers and paving the way for the field of special education. The sample of the study consists of 10 special education teachers. Interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The participants were asked 5 semi-structured questions developed by the researcher and the data were analyzed by content analysis method. When we take a look at the findings of the study, we see that teachers mostly encounter behavioral problems (n=4) when working with children with special needs; they use behavior modification (n=6) method in the face of these difficulties; The expectations from parents in this process were that they should support their children at home (n=7); expectations from the administration were mostly meeting material needs (n=7) and expectations from the guidance service were coordinating (n=4).
